What is Information Architecture (IA) and How can it Help my Business?
Information Architecture relates to the organisation and findability of content on a website or intranet. This means laying out the information in a systematic, logical schema, allowing users to find what they are looking for, in multiple ways. This is one of the most common problems with websites, and is the number one cause for visitors to leave.
As a first step, we carry out a content audit on your existing website information architecture and compare it to other best practice reference websites. We also work through various mapping and brainstorming exercises with the core team, and sometimes internal focus groups, to establish the best possible way to lay out the content of the site.
This is then worked into a working website prototype by one of our account managers, which allows us to carry out further user testing and A/B testing to ensure an optimal new information architecture has been achieved.
